Expert in Forensic Toxicology

PUT JIM MEDLEY’S EXPERIENCE TO WORK FOR YOU!

When facing DWI charges in Texas, you need a highly educated and competent attorney defending you against the harsh Texas criminal justice system. Attorney Jim Medley is far more than your average DWI lawyer; he has taken his education and training to levels that few attorneys have attained and you would have to engage in an exhaustive search to find someone else with the same level of knowledge and experience. Not only is Medley a former police officer with more than 20 years of experience in the field of criminal justice, but he holds not one, but three master’s degrees, including forensic toxicology, which he obtained from the University of Florida in 2004.

Forensic toxicology is the use of toxicology and other disciplines such as pharmacology to aid in the legal investigation of drug use, poisoning or death. Armed with information regarding the physical symptoms recorded, any evidence collected at the crime scene, such as trace residue or available chemicals, the forensic toxicologist must determine which toxic chemicals are present, in what concentrations and the probable effect those chemicals would have on a subject.

HOLDER OF THREE MASTER’S DEGREES

The master’s degree in forensic toxicology focuses on general and advanced principals of toxicology, forensic toxicology and drug metabolism, all of which provide a strong foundation in analytical techniques, pharmacokinetics, drug elimination and toxicology. The program also features modules in forensic pharmacology, doping control, postmortem toxicology and expert testimony. The program offered by the University of Florida is excellent for those working in crime laboratories, police departments, medical examiners offices, criminal law and prosecution attorneys.

In addition to holding his Master of Science in forensic toxicology, Medley has a master’s degree in criminal justice management and occupational education. He is also a graduate and member of the National College for DUI Defense, whose members represent the most experienced DUI defense attorneys in America. Attorney Medley has extensive experience trying DWI cases, and he has a broad range of knowledge of the science involved in testing for intoxicants. He also has a command of the legal processes of which DWI cases and DWI laws are formulated after.
